Sales Process Overview

Upon scheduling an appointment for an estimate you will receive a confirmation email or phone call to verify the appointment as well as the name of team member you are expecting.

On the day of the appointment you should expect our sales team to arrive within the allotted time frame window. If outside of the allotted time frame, someone from our office will reach out to notify you as quickly as possible.

Upon arrival you should expect a trained salesman wearing a logoed shirt to knock on the door and let you know they are on site.

In today’s world almost all measurements are done via a satellite program. The old days of taking an hour to measure a roof by hand are gone. In almost all cases our salesman will still climb onto the roof to verify the measurements are correct and give a thorough evaluation to the condition of the roof. The salesman will also often take pictures of specific areas of concern to share with you.

The salesman will then prepare your specific estimate which only takes a few minutes.

They will approach the door and ask to enter the home so they can go over every aspect of the roof and answer any questions, we want our customers empowered with information and knowledge.

In most situations the estimate will be provided at this time. Depending on your preference, it can be emailed or handwritten and delivered to you on site.

For most homes the entire sales call process takes less than an hour.

We are not a high-pressure sales company, and unless our homeowner is ready to execute the contract on site, we will not push for an answer that day.

Financing options are available and we are happy to assist with the application process, if needed.

Should you need more time to make a final decision on your project we will happily be on our way. You can expect a follow up call or email within a few days to determine if there is anything further we can do to earn your business. We also understand this is a decision that can take some considering.

Moving Forward With Your Project

Once you have decided to use Certified Roofers for your project please either give your salesman a call directly, or feel free to contact the office to let us know.

We will schedule a time for you to either visit the office or for an operations staff member to visit your home or place of business to execute the contract.

Most roof replacements also require a form that needs notarization for permitting purposes. We make this step easy for our customers as a representative of ours will save you a trip to the bank and notarize it for you. You must have a valid driver’s license or identification card available for the notary.

We will present you with the available colors for your project. A high percentage of our customers request recently completed addresses with a few colors for them to view in person, rather than a small sample book. We are usually able to provide these for you on the spot.

Once you have made your color selections, we will notate them on the contract.

At this time, we will provide you with a projected date range for the work to take place. Unfortunately, Florida is a very difficult environment to produce work outside at certain times of the year. These ranges are always projections, and it is important to understand that if we are rained out for several days the entire production calendar will adjust accordingly. We do our best to keep our customers updated regarding scheduling changes. Roofing is considered an art and not a science, and while we have projections for how long a project should take it is very common for a 2-day roof to take 3 days, it also happens in the reverse at times where everything works seamlessly, and we finish faster than expected. We consider the calendar to be fluid. We will never start your roof without your approval.

During Construction

A Certified Roofers representative will stop by to drop off the permit and a yard sign, generally the day before production begins.

The most important thing to know during a roof replacement is that it is an active construction site. There will be an incredible amount of commotion, with a full crew of trained roofers working diligently to replace your roof.

At most job sites we will have a dump trailer positioned as closely as possible to the roof line on the driveway. The garage and driveway should be considered unusable for the duration of the project. Depending on the schedule of the hauling team the trailer is often delivered the day before we start, and permanently removed the day after work is completed.

There will be significant amounts of debris being tossed in the trailer, including extremely dangerous nails and fragments of wood. Our goal is to always minimize the amount of debris outside the trailer, it is very common for the area surrounding the trailer to be very dangerous for homeowners (children and pets specifically).

Our crews take preventive measures to minimize the damage to landscaping, pool equipment and AC units by installing perforated tarps atop the most perilous locations. Our goal is to get as much debris directly into the trailer as possible, but we are working on a sloped surface at heights over 10 feet and gravity alone will pull debris off the roof and onto the ground below.

Our crews generally arrive some time between 7-8am and will often work until daylight leaves. This makes for particularly long days in the Summer when we have daylight past 6pm.

The crew will usually take a lunch break midday and will likely try to find shade wherever they can to rest and cool off. The work they are doing is extremely difficult and strenuous.

At the end of every day the crew will do a cursory clean up of the yard and driveway. The extensive cleanup happens at the end of the project. This cleanup will include the use of an industrial strength magnet to pick any possible remaining nails. While our goal is always 100%, it is extremely difficult to get every one of the thousands we have removed from your roof.

Our teams are trained to provide the absolute best customer experience they can. Roofing by nature is difficult and destructive, but our team exceeds expectations and makes every effort to honor the home and its owners during the process.

Our production team is led by our Superintendent Damian Lopez who will personally visit every job daily. He will communicate any issues or concerns timely. Damian has been with Certified Roofers for almost 20 years and is an expert in all aspects of roofing.

Working in tandem with Damian is our Assistant Superintendent Markes Lopez, who will also visit job sites daily. Markes will also be in close contact with our customers throughout the process.

Our goal is to keep you updated on the progress of the job and to alert you to any unexpected variables for each project we work on.

Project Completion

Once the roofing crew has completed their work they will report to the Superintendent.

The Superintendent will then visit the job site, usually the next day, to verify all components are completed to his satisfaction. Should our homeowners have any questions or concerns he will be there to address them with you.

Upon completion of our site review we will schedule the final building inspection.

The invoice will be generated from the office and emailed to our customer.

Upon payment of the invoice we will order a wind mitigation inspection from a third party vendor, and the homeowner will be contacted by them to schedule. This inspection allows our customers to prove to their insurance carrier a new roof has been installed.

We will register the warranty with the manufacturer of the product.

We will provide a final release of lien. Please note that at no time prior to this has a lien been placed on the home. The ONLY TIME a lien is ever placed on a home is in the event of non-payment, it will never be issued prior to roof start.

We will provide the final approval from the permit issuing building department, please keep for your records.

Invoicing/Payment

Only on rare occasions do we take deposits on our projects. This means payment in full is issued upon completion of the work and satisfactory approval from our production team.

We accept cash, check, ACH and all major credit cards (usually with a 3% additional fee).

The easiest form of payment for our customers is ACH directly from our electronic invoice, but are happy to make arrangements to pick up from your home or business if more convenient for you.

If you choose to finance the roof we will assist in the request for payment, and will provide any required documentation.
